I+D Campus fosters innovation in the canton of Thurgau
Kreuzlingen - The I+D Campus has launched operations to promote innovation in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. Spearheaded by Thurgau Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK TG), it is now positioned as a regional innovation hub. The Startnetzwerk startup initiative is based at the site, along with the new Thurgau Institute for Digital Transformation (TIDIT).

Cash is becoming less important in Switzerland
St.Gallen/Winterthur - Cash usage in Switzerland has continued to decline. This is a finding of the Swiss Payment Monitor conducted by the University of St.Gallen and Zurich University of Applied Sciences. Payments with mobile devices remain the most popular overall, while the use of non-mobile credit cards has increased significantly.

Carbon-based ladder makes saving lives easier
Rapperswil-Jona/Richterswil - Researchers and developers from OST - Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences and the Richterswil-based firm Carrosserie Rusterholz have manufactured a rescue ladder made from carbon. The new ladder makes the work of firefighters and rescue teams easier during missions.

Silvan Wildhaber set to be elected as president of economiesuisse
Zurich/St.Gallen - Silvan Wildhaber is to be named as the new president of economiesuisse. The 48-year-old has led the St.Gallen-based textile firm Filtex AG since 2012. In mid-September, he is expected to succeed Christoph Mäder, who has been president of the umbrella organization for the Swiss business sector for six years.
