Swiss Textiles bolstering innovation promotion with partners
Zurich - The industry association Swiss Textiles has developed two new innovation promotion tools. To this end, it is working with partners including Empa, OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland Innovation Park Ost and Armasuisse.
(CONNECT) Swiss Textiles has launched two new tools to enable Swiss textile and clothing companies to continue their active innovation efforts, as detailed in a statement. The first of these is the Research Radar, which is being developed in collaboration with the St. Gallen branch of the Swiss Federal Laboratories for Materials Science and Technology (Empa). Empa will inform textile and clothing companies about project tenders in Switzerland, through Innosuisse or the EU (Horizon), in addition to assessing the opportunities for Swiss companies and supporting them in forming consortiums.
The other tool is the DefTex Cluster founded by Swiss Textiles. Through this initiative, the industry association, Empa St. Gallen, OST – Eastern Switzerland University of Applied Sciences, Switzerland Innovation Park Ost and Armasuisse – the Federal Office for Defense Procurement – are seeking to improve the commercialization of innovative products. To this end, products from the defense sector will be linked with other industries. This is intended to enable the dual use of innovations developed by SMEs. The cluster will be based at the Switzerland Innovation Park East and will receive financial support from the partners. ce/jh
