Swifiss turns to producing disinfectant
Urnäsch AR - Swifiss AG develops and manufactures premium cosmetics in Urnäsch. However, a part of its production facility is now to focus on manufacturing disinfectant. The alcohol required for this is to be provided by Brauerei Locher.
At the moment, disinfectant products are in short supply due to the coronavirus crisis. Swifiss, a company that manufactures cosmetic products, is therefore seeking to find a solution to this issue by converting part of its production facility to manufacture disinfectant, as detailed in a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. Moreover, several firms from eastern Switzerland are joining forces for this project. Brauerei Locher, a family-run brewery based in Appenzell, will supply the alcohol, while the packaging will also be sourced from eastern Switzerland, Swifiss states in the press release.
The disinfectant products are to be manufactured in existing cosmetics production facilities, which were converted rapidly and are now running at full tilt. Swifiss also intends to continue manufacturing disinfectant even after the coronavirus crisis is over. And as if all this was not enough, Swifiss will shortly launch a hand cream to protects hands from drying out. In addition, production of a soap that functions like a disinfectant will commence in the near future in Urnäsch.
