Nüssli wins Gold and Silver for temporary construction projects

Hüttwilen TG – Two projects entered, two awards secured as best supplier: At this year’s XAVER award ceremony, Nüssli AG took home Gold for the Fête des Vignerons 2019 in Vevey and Silver for the Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival 2019 in Zug.

“The evening could hardly have been any better”, writes Nüssli AG at the start of its most recent press release: Both of the company’s submitted projects were able to win over the jury for the XAVER Award 2020. Nüssli AG, the experts for event and trade fair constructions based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, successfully secured a Gold and Silver award in the category of Best Supplier Services at the award ceremony held at Maag Halle in Zurich. With this prize, the EXPO EVENT Swiss LiveCom Association recognizes outstanding performance in the field of live communications an on annual basis.

Nüssli was awarded the XAVER 2020 Gold for the Fête des Vignerons 2019 in Vevey in the canton of Vaud. The Confrérie des Vignerons selects the best wine growers in the region only once every two decades. The jury stated that “years of preparation, great expectations, artistic ideas and a lively UNESCO tradition must be met”. The temporary arena built by Nüssli for the event over an incredibly tight space in the center of Vevey, impressed an account of its striking aesthetic in addition to the technical and logistical nature of this feat, offering space for 20,000 visitors, 5,500 performers, 900 musicians and living props.

“A generational project”, according to Matthias Kindler, President of the Jury, in the winner’s film, adding that “it’s something that you achieve only once in your life”. Kindler states that the Jury were delighted to hand over this award to Nüssli for realizing the most complex project in the company’s history. It not only functioned properly, “but also created an impression of almost poetic beauty on the marketplace in Vevey”, Kindler surmises.

Nüssli was presented with a Silver XAVER award for the Federal Wrestling and Alpine Festival 2019 in Zug. The company again built a temporary arena for this festival of superlative quality, with a total of 56,500 spectators packed into the arena across two days of the event. In addition, a total of 420,000 people watched the events unfold from the festival site. “Since 1961, Nüssli has been helping to ensure that we can honorably crown the only king we have in Switzerland every three years”, comments Jury member Sandra Mürlebach, in speech praising the company. “Something that naturally started out much smaller, has since become the largest temporary arena in Europe in 2019 – for a full 72 hours. I believe that Nüssli can be extremely proud of this achievement. Well done and congratulations on the XAVER!”.
