MS Direct expands capacities with new Oftringen site

St.Gallen/Oftringen/Arbon - The MS Direct Group is opening another location in Switzerland. In addition to establishing a new fulfilment center in Oftringen, the e-commerce logistics service is expanding its services and investing in its Arbon site at the same time.

(CONNECT) The MS Direct Group, an e-commerce logistics service provider headquartered in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen, has opened a new fulfilment center in Oftringen in the canton of Aargau. This new site is characterized by its central location and immediate proximity to important shipping hubs, as detailed in a press release. As such, it offers the ideal logistics conditions for shorter transportation routes and faster delivery times.

“With Oftringen, we are creating the ideal complement to Arbon”, as CEO Luca Graf explains, adding that: “The central location and the existing AutoStore infrastructure will allow us to respond even more flexibly to our customers’ needs and significantly increase our capacities”.

The process of moving into the new center gets underway on November 3, 2025. Following completion in spring 2026, it is expected that 100,000 containers will be managed in the AutoStore storage system at both the Oftringen site and in Arbon in the Swiss canton of Thurgau. In parallel with the establishment of the new logistics center, a technological transformation is being implemented at the Arbon site. In addition to expanding storage capacities, a new intelligent conveyor system will seamlessly connect the AutoStore, incoming goods and packing processes, as the company explains in the press release. To optimize processes, both autonomous mobile robots and an AI-supported picking system will be deployed, which with the help of a vision-language-action model has the ability to independently recognize, grasp and place items from the AutoStore storage system.

By modernizing its processes, the company expects to secure additional growth in the e-commerce sector. ce/ww
