Three’s the Charm: 3 New Buildings will Make the University of St.Gallen Fit for the Future
The University of St.Gallen has many success stories to tell. Regularly ranked in the upper echelons of international academic rankings, the University of St.Gallen recently was ranked 1st worldwide for its Master Program in Strategy and International Management for instance, and in 2016 it earned fifth place in the overall ranking of Best Business Schools in Europe, according to surveys of the Financial Times in those categories respectively. To guarantee the highest quality standards of education and research for the foreseeable future, and for a growing number of students in the St.GallenBodenseeArea (SGBA), the University is forcefully advancing building development and construction. Three projects stand out in particular:
On the Platztor area, right in downtown St.Gallen, the University of St.Gallen has planned a new campus for its fulltime MBA program. In addition to 3000 students, faculty and staff, this new building will also provide space for third-party occupants. In addition, exterior spaces and surroundings will be open to the public. The budget for the MBA campus construction is estimated at around 205 million Swiss Francs.
The University’s historic and original campus on the Rosenberg will see a restoration and renovation of the library building. An investment of 16 million Swiss Francs will make sure that students at the University of St.Gallen continue to find the best possible environment for learning and academic success.
Finally, the HSG Foundation (the foundation arm of the University of St.Gallen) is currently planning a Learning Center that will further enhance the University’s top-quality learning and academic environment for students, particularly when it comes to future challenges such as digitalization.
Those three projects are among the most important pillars for the future and sustainable success of the University of St.Gallen.
