Metrohm launches first Raman sensor

Herisau - Metrohm manufactures precision instruments for chemical analysis. It has now added the first Raman sensor to its portfolio. Raman spectroscopy is most notably used in the pharmaceutical, food and feed, and polymer markets.

Metrohm has announced the acquisition of the first Raman sensor to its portfolio. The PTRam Analyzer offers reliable industrial process control to avoid unforeseen plant shutdowns, according to a statement from the company based in Herisau in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden.

Raman spectroscopy is an established spectroscopy technique that is primarily used in the pharmaceutical, food and feed, and polymer markets. Metrohm writes that the PTRam Analyzer features self-calibration and automated performance validation to ensure the validity of every measurement. With long-lasting, rock-solid laser stability, it generates consistent results. It also has a single channel fiber-optically coupled sample probe with a replaceable shaft that is customizable for different conditions.

The Human Interface (HI) of the spectroscopy device 2060 The NIR Analyzer can be interfaced to multiple PTRam Analyzers for process automation. Thanks to the variety of process communication protocols built in with the 2060 HI, process data can be communicated in real-time to any industrial control system or directly to external devices. It is always accessible.

Metrohm is an international manufacturer of precision devices for chemical analysis, in particular ion analysis. It is headquartered in the St.GallenBodenseeArea.
