Helvetia acquires Mobile Garantie

According to a press release, Helvetia Insurance has fully acquired the German warranty insurer Mobile Garantie Deutschland GmbH. Helvetia has already been involved in Mobile Garantie through its venture fund since July 2019. The Swiss non-life insurer from the insurance company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea is now full acquiring the company.

Mobile Garantie based in Hannover specializes in innovative warranty and repair cost insurance in the automotive and electronic industries. According to the press release, it provides special insurance solutions and services as well as embedded insurance, i.e. insurance embedded in other transactions, such as a sale. Mobile Garantie has clients in Germany, Austria, and the Netherlands.

Adrian Kollegger, Head of Non-Life Switzerland and Member of Executive Management Switzerland at Helvetia, commented: “By acquiring Mobile Garantie, we are creating a basis for further profitable growth in embedded insurance. The seamless integration of insurances at the point of sale and thus having a presence everywhere there is a need for insurance is in line with Helvetia's strategic ambitions.” With this, Helvetia is developing new business areas, strengthening its embedded insurance business in the DACH region, and opening up new channels to customers.
