Goba wins three gold awards at the Swiss Spirit Review 2025
Gontenbad/Rheineck - Three Goba drinks have received gold awards at the Swiss Spirit Review 2025, most notably of all the No. 23 Löckler liqueur with 95 points. The No. 22 Frümsner Baumnuss liqueur and the Alpstein Bitter were each awarded scores of 90 points.
(CONNECT) Goba AG Mineralquelle und Manufaktur enjoyed success at the Swiss Spirit Review 2025 with three of its drinks. The jury, composed of international experts, consumer representatives, barkeepers and restaurant owners, presented gold awards following blind tasting sessions. “We are delighted with these great scores and the success of our manufacturing team”, as the company based in Gontenbad in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden writes in a press release.
In this context, the No. 23 Löckler received the second highest score of all submitted liqueurs, at 95 points. The jury assessed the liqueur made from white chocolate, goat’s milk from the cantons of Appenzell and hazelnuts as “strong in character, full-bodied and highly harmonious”, in addition to being “nutty and roasted on the palate”, with “notes of white chocolate” and an “elegant, elongated finish”.
The No. 22 Frümsner Baumnuss, a liqueur made from Frümsen walnuts with Marc de Pinot Noir, scored a total of 90 points. “Dark, nutty and earthy with balsamic notes”, in the estimation of the jury, who also found the aroma to be “clearly structured” and detected a “balanced sweetness and elegant bitterness”.
The Alpstein Bitter, which is aged in oak barrels for a period of several months, also received a score of 90 points. The jury found the Appenzeller Original, which has been in production since 1935, to be “wine-like and spicy on the nose, with a sweet and intensely bitter taste on the palate. The finish is slightly drying and not entirely balanced – but with character”.
