HSG again awarded third seal of quality

St.Gallen - The University of St.Gallen (HSG) has once again been awarded the EQUIS seal of quality as it prepares to celebrate its 125th anniversary. In so doing, HSG is one of only 123 universities in the world to defend the three Triple Crown accreditations for exceptional quality in research and teaching.

The University of St.Gallen (HSG) has again received accreditation from the independent expert commission of the European Foundation for Management Development (European Quality Improvement System, EQUIS), further details of which can be found in a press release. The internationally recognized seal of quality is awarded for continuous improvement in relation to teaching and research quality. The next review is scheduled for 2028.

“The University of St.Gallen is delighted to have received the EQUIS seal of quality for another five years as we prepare to celebrate our 125th anniversary”, comments Bernhard Ehrenzeller, President of the University of St.Gallen, in the press release. “With the re-accreditation pursuant to the best and most comprehensive European quality standard for business schools, HSG underlines its claim to excellence as an integrative business school that sets global standards for research and teaching”, he adds.

For HSG, it is vital to gain an external perspective as to how it can “maintain and expand the excellence” on offer at the university, particularly as far as the peer review process and open discussions are concerned. Bernhard Ehrenzeller adds that it is “precisely this future orientation and focus on continuous quality improvements that will stand us in good stead well beyond this milestone year”.

The university also received the AACSB certification in Management and Finance as well as the AMBA accreditation for postgraduate management education. Having been awarded all three accreditations, the University of St.Gallen has therefore defended its Triple Crown. This hat-trick was only awarded to 123 universities worldwide. ce/ww
