UBS becomes campus bank and partner of HSG
St.Gallen/Zurich - UBS will enter into partnership with the University of St.Gallen (HSG), building on the collaboration that began with Credit Suisse. It is also set to become the new HSG campus bank.
The major Zurich bank UBS is building on the partnership established by Credit Suisse with the University of St.Gallen (HSG). UBS has acquired Credit Suisse. According to a press release the HSG-UBS partnership, like other UBS university collaborations, will focus on promoting innovation and entrepreneurship. UBS and HSG will also be strongly committed to promoting young talent, adds the press release.
UBS will become the official new campus bank of the University of St.Gallen and a partner to various HSG organizations and programs, such as the student body itself, the Career and Corporate Service Center (CSC) and the Master’s course in Banking and Finance. The press release explains that UBS will seamlessly assume all obligations arising from the partnership agreement between HSG and Credit Suisse, which provides for contributions of 20 million Swiss francs for the period 2021 to 2030. Unrestricted freedom in research and teaching is a key concern for both partners and essential to the success of the collaboration, adds the jointly issued press release.
“UBS’s generous financial support and its international expertise enable us to create innovative impetus for the financial industry and to promote the development of talented students and researchers,” says Professor Manuel Ammann, who became the new President of HSG on February 1.
According to Sabine Keller-Busse, President of UBS Switzerland, the partnership with HSG will give a further boost to innovation in the Swiss economy. The partnership ideally complements existing university collaborations with the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich (ETH) and Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Lausanne (EPFL). ce/gba
