swissplast acquires German company
Sargans SG – Plastics processing company swissplast AG has acquired AL-KO Plast GmbH, allowing it to diversify its product portfolio.
St.GallenBodenseeArea manufacturer swissplast AG specializes in extraordinary plastic components using thermoforming to manufacture individual shapes tailored to each customer’s needs. With the acquisition of AL-KO Plast, an Ichenhausen-based company in the high-quality chassis and chassis components industry, swissplast is expanding its product range.
“swissplast is pursuing a clear growth strategy, which we are able to support with this acquisition. We also strive for greater product diversification, particularly with regard to the manufacture of workpiece carriers. As AL-KO Plast GmbH is an absolute specialist in this field, the company will make an important contribution towards achieving our goals,” said Barac S. Bieri, owner of swissplast AG.
The company now has production facilities in Sargans in the canton of St.Gallen as well as Gotha and Ichenhausen in Germany. All AL-KO Plast employees will remain after the acquisition, bringing the total number of swissplast employees to 130 people.
