Swisscharge.ch now owned by Energie 360° and TCS

Gossau SG/Zurich - Energie 360° has increased its shares in Swisscharge.ch, a Gossau-based operator of charging networks for electric vehicles, by a further 10 percent to total 90 percent. Touring Club Schweiz (TCS) now also owns shares in Swisscharge.ch.

Energie 360°, a sustainable energy provider, now owns 90 percent of Swisscharge.ch, which is based in Gossau. While Energie 360° increased its shares in the charging network operator and charging software provider by 10 percent, Touring Club Schweiz (TCS) also acquired shares of 10 percent in Swisscharge.ch. According to a press release, Touring Club Schweiz and Energie 360° entered into a partnership back in January 2018.

The network run by Swisscharge.ch currently comprises around 1,800 partner charging stations in Switzerland and 83,600 charging locations in Europe. The charging solutions offered by Energie 360° in public locations, apartment blocks, and commercial properties also use the software owned by Swisscharge.ch. Over 21,000 end customers are already using the charging network provided by Swisscharge.ch.

TCS aims to bring its approximately 1.5 million members into the age of electromobility. In addition to its usual breakdown services, the club also offers advice, purchasing of home charging stations, and as part of a collaboration with Swisscharge.ch, access to charging stations across Europe while traveling.

TCS and Energie 360° acquired their shares from Alrama AG, a company belonging to the founder, Albert Lehmann, who is still the CEO of Swisscharge.ch. Lehmann is quoted as saying: “Since being founded in 2014, we have established an impressive position in the market. For this reason, it is a logical step to bring aboard TCS, a well-known, national organization.” Director of TCS, Bernhard Bieri, adds: “TCS supports its members in the transition to the age of electromobility by providing concrete services. With regard to this, Swisscharge.ch is an important partner for charging while on the go and is also the provider of the eCharge app and the TCS charging card.”

Rami Syväri, Head of Mobility at Energie 360°, had the following to say about the collaboration: “Together we are pursuing our aim of making electromobility easily and extensively available across all of Switzerland.”
