SFS expands activities in the field of medical technology
Heerbrugg SG – The SFS Group, a precision parts manufacturer, is expanding its Tegra Medical brand and therefore also the services on offer within its medical devices business. In this way, the company’s production platform in this area will also be offered in Europe and Asia as well.
The Tegra Medical brand has been a part of the SFS Group since 2016 and has, up until now, been present in the markets of North and Central America, as detailed in a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. Here, Tegra Medical works as a development, production and supply partner for customers in the field of medical devices. SFS Group has now set its sights on increasing its activities in this “fast-growing global market”. For this reason, it is implementing a strategy involving a global manufacturing platform for this segment. In future, the company’s customers will therefore be able to make use of services under the Tegra Medical brand from locations in Switzerland, Malaysia and China. In so doing, all SFS Group activities in its medical devices business will now be bundled under the umbrella of the Tegra Medical brand.
“It is in our DNA to maintain a partnership and trust-based relationship with our customers”, comments Jens Breu, CEO of the SFS Group, in the press release, before adding: “We are therefore very pleased to announce the global expansion of our medical device activities, which will allow us to extend our local presence across the globe and deepen our relationships with customers in Europe and Asia”.
Tegra Medical is part of the Medical division, which will be under new management from January 1, 2021 onwards. In addition to his responsibilities as Head of the Industrial division, Walter Kobler is also to head up the Medical division. A site has already been acquired in the USA to facilitate the future growth of Tegra Medical, while the location in Hallau in the canton of Schaffhausen is also to be expanded. “This expansion enables us to take full advantage of Tegra Medical’s growth momentum”, Kobler states in the press release.
