Schnider AG opens waste disposal plant in Sulgen

Sulgen TG – Schnider AG put into service its new waste disposal plant in Sulgen at the start of this week. This plant will collect reusable materials from industry, construction and household waste. Schnider processes some of these materials itself, while others are delivered to appropriate enterprises.

On Monday morning, the first deliveries were made to the new waste disposal plant of Schnider AG in Sulgen, as an article in the Tagblatt newspaper reported. Based in Engelburg in St.Gallen, the company now covers the catchment area of Eastern Switzerland with three sites in Engelburg, Herisau AR and Sulgen. Initially, Schnider has employed three new members of staff at the new site, who are currently being supported by colleagues in Engelburg.

“In Thurgau, we already have some major clients from business and industry,” said Managing Director Reto Schnider in the article. “With this new site, we want to expand our activities to cover a greater area.” The company is reportedly trying to process the collected materials in Switzerland “if at all possible”.

At the waste disposal plant in Sulgen, the recyclable materials are “professionally sorted and stored until an optimal transport volume has been reached”. Most materials are then transferred to other appropriate enterprises for recycling. Some materials, including scrap wood, can be processed by Schnider AG at its plant in Engelburg. The new waste disposal plant in Sulgen will help reduce transport distances, which “makes sense from both a cost and environmental perspective,” explains Schnider.
