People’s now flying to Vienna again

Altenrhein SG – The airline People’s will resume scheduled flights between Altenrhein and Vienna on June 15th. To start with, one flight will be available per working day.

Passengers at Altenrhein airport are now benefitting from further easing of restrictions. With the airport already having partially reopened for small aircraft and helicopters with a maximum take-off weight of under 3 metric tons, this is now followed by the scheduled flight service between Altenrhein and Vienna. According to a press release from the airline and airport operator People’s Air Group, this service will be resumed on June 15th.

Restarting the flight service will also follow the reopening of borders between Switzerland and Austria on June 15th according to the press release. However, “economic considerations and the general demand for flights” will apparently make it vital for flight operation to be resumed in stages. As such, People’s is starting with one outbound and inbound flight per working day at first. According to the press release, short check-in times at the airport can be guaranteed despite the protective measures put in place. Regarding expansion of the flight service, People’s Air Group explains: “An increase to two rotations a day will occur as a second step, the timing of which is dependent on further developments.”
