Green light for the Loser panoramic lift

Flums/Altaussee - Bartholet has completed the construction project for the new Loser panoramic lift in Austria. After receiving the green light from the responsible authorities, the new gondola lift has been put into operation. As the operating company, Loser Bergbahnen GmbH & Co KG has invested a sum of 30 million euros in this project.

Bartholet Maschinenbau AG from Flums in the canton of St.Gallen in Switzerland has built a 10-seater panoramic gondola lift for Loser Bergbahnen GmbH & Co KG in the Loser ski and hiking area in the Austrian region of Salzkammergut. This replaces the previous chairlifts on the route from the Loser Arena base station via the Augst parking lot mid-station to the summit arrival at Loser Alm. After successfully receiving the green light from the responsible authorities, the Loser panoramic lift is now open and in operation, as Bartholet writes in a press release. The new facility has been realized on the back of an investment totaling 30 million euros from Loser Bergbahnen GmbH & Co KG.

The new panoramic lift covers the 3,500-meter route in around 10 minutes at a maximum speed of 6 meters per second. Section 1 has 46 panoramic gondolas, with a further 30 in section 2. Each panoramic gondola has a capacity of 10 people. Both sections of the cable car have independent mountain-side drives.

The operator uses renewable energies to operate the panoramic gondola lift, with modern photovoltaic systems installed on the station buildings during construction. Current plans for the future envisage a small hydroelectric power plant to cover up to 50 percent of the cable car’s energy requirements. ce/hs
