LeihBOX now also operating in Germany
St.Gallen - LeihBOX is expanding its range of logistics containers to the German market. With 9,000 pick-up locations in Germany, Go! Uni-Werbung AG’s services are now available throughout the DACH (Germany, Austria, Switzerland) region.
(CONNECT) The rental of reusable logistics containers via the St.Gallen-based firm LeihBOX is now available throughout Germany, as detailed in a LinkedIn post. A network of 9,000 pick-up and drop-off points has been established by Go! Uni-Werbung AG for this service, which also extends as far as the German islands. The aim here is to facilitate a circular economy approach, even for people who are moving house across borders.
According to information from LeihBOX, 4.8 million households in Germany move house each year, which generates a large volume of moving boxes that are manufactured, used and then largely discarded. As LeihBOX reports, the approximately 144 million boxes required to meet this demand result in roughly 72,000 tons of greenhouse gas emissions. To counteract this, LeihBOX has launched its reusable rental box. Experience shows that these boxes can be reused approximately 400 times, LeihBOX states. The company has calculated that an 80 percent reduction in carbon dioxide emissions can be achieved by the end of this process. This does not include the savings from eliminating the need for PVC or polypropylene adhesive tape. Additionally, LeihBOX underscores that the containers, which are made from rigid injection-molded plastic, help to protect fragile items such as glass and crockery during transport.
The boxes have a load capacity of 40 kilograms and are easily stackable for logistics purposes. When folded flat, the boxes are also easy to store. Larger quantities can be ordered directly from the freight forwarders or picked up from their sites. ce/ww
