Leica Geosystems and Xwatch combine safety solutions
Heerbrugg SG/Cwbran - The UK company Xwatch Safety Solutions is integrating Leica’s solutions into a safety system for excavators. This will help to eliminate accidents on the jobsite.
Leica Geosystems has announced an integration partnership with Xwatch Safety Solutions Ltd. from the UK. Through this, Xwatch’s excavator height control and slew control will be interconnected with Leica Geosystems 2D and 3D machine control and safety awareness solutions. Leica’s alarm solution automatically alerts operators on the screen of the same device they use for ongoing machine operations. It can be used for bulldozers, excavators or any other heavy equipment to transform jobsite safety.
“The integration of our XW series directly into Leica Geosystems MC1 ecosystem is a global first and a true revolution in safety,” explained Dan Leaney, Director of Sales and Operation for Xwatch Safety Solutions Ltd, in a press release. Through this, they “aim to provide solutions that protect assets and infrastructure but most importantly allow people to always see their families after a hard day’s work,” said Brad Mullis, Product Manager for Safety Awareness Solutions at Leica Geosystems.
Plantforce digital manager Dale Hawkins is also quoted in the press release, as his company is “particularly proud” of being the first plant hire company in the UK to use the Leica Geosystem fitted semi-automatic excavator. The company has confidence the new combined safety solution from Xwatch and Leica Geosystems “with a reliable, easy-to-use system and an excellent after-sales service” will serve to enhance its commitment to safety.
