Leica Geosystems launches new measurement software
Heerbrugg - Leica Geosystems is presenting a new software for measuring and templating objects. Leica iCON trades can be used to precisely measure spaces and create models in both 2D and 3D from measurement data.
The precision equipment manufacturer Leica Geosystems based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea of Switzerland has revealed a new software for measuring and templating objects. According to a press release from the enterprise, which is part of Swedish technology company Hexagon, the Leica iCON trades software based on artificial intelligence can be used to accurately measure spaces and objects and to create 2D or 3D models as digital templates. The programs cover the entire measurement and templating process in interior construction. Leica iCON trades is suitable for carpentry, kitchen and staircase fitting, metalwork, stonecutting, and glazing. The solutions that have been developed enable highly accurate measurements, even on polished surfaces and glass. The flexible laser distance measurement, efficient line and area scans, and the use of 6 degrees of freedom (6DoF) technology, which has only been used in industrial measurement technology to date, allow users to produce precise measurements and templates.
In interior construction, accurate measurements can be made and template plans can then be processed with CAD software. With the creation of templates, precise models from 2D or 3D measurements can be processed and then sent to CNC machines for production. Agata Fischer, President of Building Field Solutions at Hexagon Geosystems, commented in the press release: “Both workflows eliminate manual and error-prone measurements, reduce waste and rework, and improve efficiency on site. Leica iCON trades will speed up interior finishing and digital templating workflows while providing high-precision fit to fulfil professional requirements. With this ground-breaking solution, we bring innovation and value to customers, replacing traditional and analog measurement techniques”. ce/ww
