Leica Geosystems partners with Autodesk

Heerbrugg SG – The precision devices manufacturer Leica Geosystems has announced a new collaboration with American software provider Autodesk. A Leica layout tool has been integrated with an Autodesk app.

Leica Geosystems’ iC T30 construction layout tool is built for one-person layout tasks in construction and provides an entry into digital technologies for construction companies, according to a statement from the precision devices manufacturer from the St.GallenBodenseeArea.

The new collaboration with Autodesk integrates the iCT30 as well as the Leica Viva TS13 and TS16, and Leica Nova TS60 and TM60 with the Autodesk BIM 360 Layout App. By so enabling immediate use of total stations on site, processes can be accelerated, explains Leica Geosystems. Like other initiatives being pursued by both companies, the project seeks to boost efficiency in building construction with digitalization.

“In the building construction industry, we are seeing a move to become more digital on site, leaving analogue methods, especially in layout, behind,” commented Bernd Moeller, Business Director for Field Software Solutions at Leica Geosystems. His company is “consistently looking at ways to bring more digital solutions to the field”.
