Leica Geosystems wins top award for surveillance product
Heerbrugg SG – Leica Geosystems has won the Security Industry Association’s 2020 Best New Product Award for its BLK247 reality capture sensor.
The Security Industry Association (SIA), a U.S. trade association for security solution providers, has been awarding its New Product Award since 1979. This year’s award went to the BLK247 sensor from Leica Geosystems, a manufacturer of high-precision measurement systems located in the St.GallenBodenseeArea.
The BLK247 is a real-time reality capture sensor that monitors 3D environments and boasts a range of features, including thermal imaging. It also uses intelligent algorithms “to detect and report physical changes within a space”.
“We’re proud of the development efforts that led to the BLK247 being the industry’s first 3D reality capture sensor for surveillance,” Carl-Thomas Schneider, vice president of business development at Hexagon’s Geosystems division said press release.
The 30-person SIA jury handed out awards in 23 product and service categories this year. The Best New Product Award is its highest award.
