St.Gallen/Cannes - Creations featuring Swiss textile artistry by Jakob Schlaepfer and Forster Willi were on display at this year's Cannes Film Festival. Numerous celebrities, Cate Blanchett among them, appeared in gowns from renowned fashion houses, finished with embroidery and textiles from St.Gallen.
(CONNECT) At the 79th annual Cannes Film Festival, all eyes were on the Swiss textile artistry provided by the design houses Jakob Schlaepfer and Forster Willi. According to a statement, a number of famous faces from the worlds of film and fashion took to the red carpet in looks designed by renowned fashion brands. Fashion designers from the St.Gallen-based Forster Rohner Group provided the finishing touches to these creations in the form of high-quality embroidery and textiles.
According to the statement, actress Cate Blanchett appeared in a gown designed by Forster Willi for the French fashion brand Louis Vuitton. The dress worn by Aja Naomi King was from the collection of the Italian brand Miu Miu and this was embellished with embroidery by Forster Willi.
Jakob Schlaepfer also provided several famous personalities with creations for their turns on the red carpet. For example, the actress Vicky Krieps wore a creation designed by Jakob Schlaepfer for Bottega Veneta. Moreover, the businesswoman and designer Nicky Hilton, actress Elsa Zylberstein and model Romee Strijd all appeared in Jakob Schlaepfer creations for Caroline's Couture. ce/heg
