IQAir launches durable air purifier made of wood
Steinach - IQAir in the canton of St Gallen has launched an air purifier with a wooden housing called Atem Earth on the market. It reportedly reduces the use of resources by having fewer components and is also particularly energy efficient.
(CONNECT) The new Atem Earth air purifier from IQAir is the first-ever air purifier to feature a sleek housing made entirely of sustainably forested beech wood, as was reported in a press release. The company from Steinach also explains that it contains fewer components to ensure reduced resource use. This model is furthermore said to be free from harmful paint or polluting varnishes. In addition, the device reportedly consumes little electricity and boasts a filter system that drastically reduces waste.
IQAir highlights as an industry first the fact that Atem Earth displays both indoor and outdoor air quality. According to the information provided, the outdoor air data is streamed from IQAir’s global air quality data network, which covers more than 10,000 cities. Alternatively, the device can be paired with the user’s own IQAir monitor, which displays the quality of the ambient air.
Atem Earth’s cylindrical tower design creates a powerful clean air vortex to remove viruses, bacteria, allergens, pollen, mold, pet dander, dust and wildfire smoke as well as industrial and traffic pollution. An activated carbon post-filter filter helps to remove chemicals and odors. Atem Earth is designed to clean rooms up to 136 square meters on maximum speed.
The air purifier is made in Switzerland and backed by a 25-year repairability guarantee. “Every Atem Earth unit is built to last, reducing waste and conserving resources for future generations,” says CEO Frank Hammes. This ensures “both people and the planet benefit”. ce/mm
