Innosuisse supports smartwindows

Müllheim - Innosuisse is providing financial support to windows manufacturer smartwindows. It has particularly praised a plastic window produced by the company, which was awarded the eco1 certificate last year.

Innosuisse, the Swiss Innovation Agency, is supporting smartwindows, a windows manufacturer based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. As a press release explains, it has particularly acknowledged the development of the classico plastic window, which was the first window in Switzerland to be awarded the eco1 certificate and was produced as part of an Innovation Booster.

smartwindows from the canton of Thurgau plans to use the new investment to implement its Window 4 Zero Emission program. If it is successful in increasing the amount of recycled material in window profiles to 80 per cent, the CO2 emissions of residential buildings will be reduced by 10,000 tons each year. According to the company’s press release, this will prevent 60,000 tons of gray emissions and will establish a circular economy in Switzerland’s window market.

The advantages of the certified smartwindows classico model include its high proportion of recycled materials (70 per cent) and the fact that the raw materials can be reused up to eight times. The window meets the strict requirements of ecobau and Minergie-Eco and complies with the first priority of ecoBKP and ecoDevis. ce/ww
