Gonten/Zurich - Huus Quell from Appenzeller Huus has become a new member of the hotel group Responsible Hotels of Switzerland. As an independent business, Huus Quell operates according to the verified criteria of the hotel cooperation for sustainability and social responsibility.

(CONNECTHuus Quell, one of three houses from Appenzeller Huus in Gonten in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden, has joined the hotel group Responsible Hotels of Switzerland. As an independent hotel business, it now forms part of a hotel network that, according to a statement, stands for “responsible tourism, lived values and strong regional anchoring”. A strong emphasis on “regionality, authenticity and conscious enjoyment” was at the forefront of this decision. These are values shared by the Responsible Hotels of Switzerland hotel group, the statement adds.

According to information from Huus Quell itself, the property promises to offer a retreat combining timeless elegance, natural tranquillity and mindfulness, culminating in a contemporary interpretation of the Appenzell region’s values. Jan Schoch, owner and general manager of Appenzeller Huus, stated that joining the association demonstrates the hotel’s commitment to “taking responsibility for the region and our guests”. Tucked away in the picturesque landscape, the hotel seeks to create “places where people can find peace and quiet while simultaneously experiencing a connection to the culture and nature of Appenzell”.

Responsible Hotels was founded by and for hotels in November 2021, with the aim of “showcasing the outstanding achievements of hotel businesses that have implemented pioneering sustainability projects”. The cooperation brings together select hotels in Switzerland that have adopted a focus on social and environmental responsibility. These hotels operate according to clearly defined criteria and demonstrate a continuous commitment to ecological and social sustainability. ce/heg
