HUBER+SUHNER agrees multi-year cooperation with Vodafone

Herisau/Pfäffikon/Richardson/Düsseldorf - HUBER+SUHNER and Aurora Networks are being tasked with modernizing Vodafone’s cable network. To this end, the Swiss specialist for connectivity technology and the business unit of the Texas-based firm Vistance Networks are contributing their respective expertise.

(CONNECTHUBER+SUHNER, with headquarters in Herisau in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden and Pfäffikon in the canton of Zurich, Switzerland, and Aurora Networks from Richardson in the US State of Texas, are supporting the German telecommunications provider Vodafone in its efforts to develop and implement a next-generation cable network. According to a statement issued by the Swiss specialist for electrical and optical connectivity technology, the services of the two technology companies will support Vodafone in the introduction of innovative Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) and virtual Cable Model Termination System (vCMTS) technologies and in its efforts to optimize the existing Hybrid Fiber Coax (HFC) infrastructure.

Guy Sucharczuk, SVP & President Access Network Solutions at Aurora Networks, welcomes Vodafone to the expanding group of global operators that have adopted vCCAP Evo, which he explains will “enable Vodafone to significantly optimize the performance of its network”.

HUBER+SUHNER, a global provider of innovative and high-quality connectivity solutions, will supply Vodafone with next-generation Remote PHY solutions. The systems support full software interoperability and therefore help to refine and scale Vodafone's modern HFC network architecture.
