eJoule delivers several tons of cathode material to Wyon
Steinegg/Fremont - eJoule has supplied several tons of cathode material to Wyon AG, which is based in Steinegg in the canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden. The material was specially developed for Wyon’s lithium-ion microbattery systems, which are used for critical applications in medical devices.
(CONNECT) eJoule Inc., which is based in Fremont in the US State in California, has delivered several tons of high-performance doped and coated single-crystal cathode material to Wyon AG in Steinegg as part of a major order. The cathode material is tailored to Wyon's strict specifications. According to a press release, this is to be used in conjunction with Wyon’s lithium-ion microbattery systems, which were developed for critical applications in medical devices.
“eJoule’s cathode material meets the world class specifications and performance standards that Wyon demands for its proprietary lithium-ion batteries used in medical applications”, comments Philipp Wyser, CEO of Wyon AG, in the press release.
The partnership is said to represent a step forward in merging advanced materials engineering with the precision demands of the medical device industry. The material developed by eJoule is vital for Wyon’s rechargeable microbatteries, which are characterized by reliability, thermal stability and proven biocompatibility, as the press release states. The cathode is reportedly particularly important in terms of aspects such as energy density, cycle life, and thermal performance.
“eJoule is proud to support Wyon’s leadership in the medical device battery space after years of close collaboration”, comments Dr. Liang Chen, CEO of eJoule, adding that: “This partnership reflects our shared commitment to advancing safe, high-performance energy solutions for next-generation healthcare technologies”. ce/nta
