DocMorris and Google partner to develop AI-powered health platform

Frauenfeld/Mountain View - DocMorris and Google are working together to develop an artificial intelligence (AI)-powered healthcare platform. DocMorris will combine its healthcare and pharmaceutical expertise with Google’s secure cloud infrastructure and AI services.

(CONNECTDocMorris and Google are entering into a partnership to advance the development of a leading AI-powered digital health platform in Europe, according to a statement. The goal is to accelerate DocMorris’ transformation into an “AI-first” company. Under the collaboration, the online pharmacy DocMorris will combine its healthcare and pharmaceutical expertise with Google’s advanced AI technologies and secure cloud infrastructure, with the intention of developing the next-generation digital health platform.

Central to the partnership are new seamlessly connected, AI-driven patient services. These include a personalized AI health companion using Google’s Gemini models and applications such as YouTube and Health Connect to support patients digitally from symptom onset to e-prescription redemption. Plans are also in place to expand the AI-powered online pharmacy. Using conversational AI, DocMorris aims to offer its approximately 11 million active customers personalized, intuitive shopping experiences.

Internally, the company is increasingly using AI: it says it has implemented Google Workspace with Gemini and agentic AI to make processes more efficient. DocMorris is also migrating its entire IT infrastructure to Google Cloud. Sensitive health data will be processed in European data centers, ensuring it meets the highest security and data protection standards.

“At its core, our transformation is all about the patient,” Walter Hess, CEO of DocMorris, is quoted as saying. “By leveraging Google’s world-class AI infrastructure and security standards, we are empowering individuals with direct, secure access to their own health journey through a personalised and intuitive experience.”

DocMorris operates across Europe in the fields of online pharmacy, telemedicine, and digital health services. In 2025, the Frauenfeld-based company, which employs around 1,600 people, generated external revenue of 1,186 million Swiss francs. ce/ja
