Bühler acquires Sputtering Components
Uzwil SG – Process technology specialist Bühler is integrating Sputtering Components Inc. into the Group. The U.S. company manufactures precision vacuum components.
Sputtering Components Inc. (SCI) will become a member of the Bühler Group as an autonomous business unit. The manufacturer of precision vacuum components will operate within the vacuum coating business of Bühler Leybold Optics, it was reported in a Bühler press release. “We have intensively worked with SCI for many years. Together, we have gained a leading market position, especially with systems for coating of architectural glass,” commented Antonio Requena, CEO of Bühler Leybold Optics: “Therefore, we are proud to know that the team of SCI will in the future be part of Bühler, with all its capabilities, its reputation in the marketplace, and its enthusiasm for high-quality products.”
The process technology company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea intends to strengthen its global sales and service network in the coatings segment. The product portfolio will also be expanded with process solutions and new cost-efficient product ranges.
The current management team will continue to run the existing location in Owatonna, Minnesota, with its over 40 employees. The current CEO, Barry Nudelman, will resign from his position at the end of the transition phase and be succeeded by Andy Britt as General Manager, who is currently Vice President, Capital Sales at Bühler Aeroglide.
