Bühler acquires Esau & Hueber
Uzwil/Schrobenhausen - Bühler has taken over Esau & Hueber. The global technology group, which is based in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen, is aiming to strengthen its malting, brewing and sustainable protein businesses, while the German company expects to expand its global reach and generate new market opportunities.
Uzwil-based technology group Bühler has announced its acquisition of Schobenhausen, Germany-based Esau & Hueber. In a press release, the two partners explain how they are combining their strengths. Esau & Hueber specializes in facilities for hygienic process and fermentation technology in the brewing, beverage, biotechnology and pharmaceutical sectors.
The acquisition will enable Bühler to strengthen its position as an industry innovator: it is aiming to expand its capacities in the malting, brewing and sustainable protein segments and build its expertise in these areas. “The acquisition presents a unique opportunity to integrate Esau & Hueber capabilities and better meet the evolving needs of our global customers,” says Bühler CTO Ian Roberts.
Esau & Huber shareholder Johannes Schulz-Hess says he is delighted that “the recent successful developments within the company and its capabilities are now opening up entirely new dimensions and opportunities through the association with Bühler. This step will also greatly benefit our customers and create new market potential.”
Esau & Hueber is an independent company with 42 employees. It designs and builds high-tech facilities and develops advanced process technology. Following the merger, the company headquarters will remain in Schrobenhausen, Bavaria. ce/heg
