Bühler builds oat mill in Finland

Uzwil SG/Rauma - Suomen Viljava has chosen Bühler from the St.GallenBodenseeArea to build an oat mill at the port of Rauma on the western coast of Finland. The technology company will provide a comprehensive solution for cleaning, dehulling, kilning, cutting, flaking, bagging, and loading.

Suomen Viljava is planning to build a modern oat mill at the port of Rauma on the western coast of Finland. There, the company hopes to manufacture a whole range of products such as porridge, oats, and oat husk pellets. Suomen Viljava has chosen the technology company Bühler from the St.GallenBodenseeArea to construct the mill.

According to a press release from Bühler, the company will deliver a package of comprehensive solutions. The mill, controlled by the technology company’s Mercury Manufacturing Execution System, will take on the entire processing chain from cleaning and dehulling to kilning, cutting and flaking through to bagging and loading. Installation of the new oat mill is scheduled to start in September next year.

Mathias Hannsbauer, Head of Business Segment Oat at Bühler Group, is quoted in the press release as saying: “This project offers us a unique opportunity to craft a customized and highly efficient solution to Viljava’s new plant.” Suomen Viljava CEO Pasi Lähdetie is in turn “convinced that the cooperation with Bühler in this ambitious project will support us to reach our business goals”.
