Brauerei Locher enjoys success at the World Beer Awards

Appenzell - Beers brewed by Brauerei Locher have gained recognition at this year’s World Beer Awards in London. The Appenzell-based brewery won two gold medals, in addition to five in silver and four bronze awards.

(CONNECTBrauerei Locher, a traditional brewery based in Appenzell in the Swiss canton of Appenzell Innerrhoden, went away from the World Beer Awards 2025 in London with a total of 11 awards, according to a press release. The company won two gold medals as Country Winner Switzerland for the Schwarzer Kristall (Dark Lager) and BrandlLöscher (Vienna) brands.

In terms of national prizes, silver medals were awarded to the IPA (American Style) and the fruity, tart Vintage Sour Beer (raspberry). Further silver awards went to the Locher Craft range, with the Hazy Climber (Milkshake IPA/New England IPA), the Mountain Ale (American Style Pale Ale), and the Fruity Cave (Kriek) claiming the prizes in this respect. Bronze medals were awarded to the alcohol-free Freefall (NO & Low Alcohol) and the Misty Cave (Pale).
