Bauwerk Parquet wins project with its environmental approach

St.Margrethen SG – Parquet manufacturer Bauwerk Parquet has been awarded the contract for a conversion project thanks to the outstanding energy utilization of its 1-strip plank flooring. The company also operates within a circular economy concept.

The owner of an apartment building in Seewis in the canton of Graubünden has selected Bauwerk Parquet to provide plank flooring for its conservation project. More specifically, it will use the naturally oiled Oak Mandorla 46 from the Villapark 1-strip-plank range. The client opted for the product because it demonstrates outstanding energy utilization with underfloor heating systems.

Another factor in favour of the company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea is that it manufactures its products according to the Cradle to Cradle or C2C circular economy concept, which was developed by German chemist Michael Braungart and American architect William McDonough.

The goal of the Cradle to Cradle concept is to return biological nutrients to the biological cycle, and it places eco-efficient processes in an economic context. In Switzerland, the organization EPEA Switzerland supports companies in working according to the Cradle to Cradle concept, and it has already granted its C2C certification to Bauwerk Parquet.
