Baumer launches new ToF sensors

Frauenfeld - The sensor specialist Baumer has developed two new ToF sensors. While model OT200 features a compact miniature design and long range, OT330 is an efficient all-rounder offering extremely easy installation and low maintenance effort.

(CONNECT) The sensor specialist Baumer with headquarters in the St.GallenBodenseeArea has brought two new time-of-flight (ToF) sensors on the market. With the new models OT200 and OT330, Baumer set standards in their respective housing class, as was reported in a press release.

The OT200 sensor is the most compact ToF sensor and with its miniature design is characterized by the smallest blind zone range of less than 2 millimeters on ultra black and the longest range of up to 2 meters. Meanwhile, the slightly larger OT330 sensor offers extremely easy installation and low maintenance effort. With a long range up to 2.5 meters and an excellent price-performance ratio, Baumer states it is a particularly efficient all-rounder in multifaceted applications.

The sensors both include 3D CAD data with integrated beam path, the qTarget feature for optical axis alignment and the teaching feature qTeach. These enable user friendly planning, installation, commissioning and operation. The SmartReflect variants, a light barrier without reflector, are particularly efficient since they do not require the additional installation and maintenance of a reflector. The Alignment Guide is another valuable tool for easy infrared laser alignment.

ToF sensors are highly suited to detecting light-absorbing and reflective objects. They can reliably measure distances regardless of angle, object geometry and installation position. Typical applications can be found in intralogistics, equipment engineering as well as wafer and semiconductor production. With the OT200 and OT330 models, Baumer’s ToF portfolio now offers a range from 0 to 2.5 meters utilizing different light sources of varied sizes and designs. ce/nta
