Azelis strengthens presence in Swiss market with Distona acquisition
Antwerp/Rapperswil-Jona - Belgian chemicals company Azelis has acquired Distona AG from Rapperswil-Jona in the Swiss canton of St.Gallen. With the takeover of the specialty chemicals company, Azelis aims to further strengthen its market position in Switzerland.
(CONNECT) The Antwerp-based Azelis Group has acquired Distona AG from Rapperswil-Jona. According to a statement, Azelis aims to expand its market position in Switzerland with the acquisition of the specialty chemicals company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea.
Founded in 2014, Distona AG specializes in the production of industrial chemicals, including plasticizers, adhesives, metal coatings, and other chemicals. It supplies over 150 customers. With this acquisition, Belgian Azelis aims to supply a broad customer base in Switzerland.
“By becoming part of the Azelis group, we gain access to greater expertise, innovation, and a strong portfolio that will enhance our own business and will create more value for our customers,” said Daniel Altorfer und David Nipkow, co-owners at Distona, in the statement. “We’re excited to work together, bringing the most innovative and sustainable solutions to our partners in the Industrial Chemicals market segments.”
According to Marnik Tack, COO at Atelis, the merger with Distona will strengthen his company's presence in Switzerland. It “aligns perfectly with our strategy of consolidating the business through targeted acquisitions”, he is quoted as saying. ce/ww
