Abacus launches app for expense receipts

Wittenbach SG – Abacus has developed an app to digitize and process any type of receipt. AbaClik 3 is based on artificial intelligence and machine learning. Expense receipts are automatically booked in the Abacus accounting program.

The smartphone app AbaClik 3 digitizes the whole expense process, from capturing receipts to booking in the Abacus business software or AbaNinja digital accounting system, as Abacus Research AG explained in a press release. The new app from the software developer in the St.GallenBodenseeArea draws on artificial intelligence and machine learning to supplement or amend missing or incorrect information on receipts.

“The accounting process itself has not changed, but our products are always evolving,” said Claudio Hintermann, CEO of Abacus Research. “Through the integration of new technologies, we are in this case automating corporate processes long term.”

To capture expense receipts, simply take a picture on the smartphone camera in the app. What’s more, AbaClik 3 is able to automatically log Cornèrcard credit card transactions and suggests reconciliation if there are any discrepancies between transactions and receipts, as Abacus explains. The company also plans to integrate credit cards from other providers. These transactions can already be logged by AbaClik 3. Reconciliation with expense receipts then occurs in the Abacus business software.
