Enespa starts recycling plastic refuse
Appenzell - Enespa has developed a machine that produces liquid paraffin from mixed plastics refuse. The first module has now been delivered. Over the next 12 months, production capacities are to be substantially expanded.
The solution developed by Enespa facilitates the production of liquid paraffin on the basis of mixed plastics refuse. The liquid paraffin can then be used as the raw material to manufacture new plastic granulates. During this thermal decomposition process, a gas is produced that can be used to operate the machine. The aim is to produce 890 kilograms of liquid paraffin from 1,000 kilograms of plastic refuse per day and per module. The technology partner of Enespa, Biofabrik Technologies GmbH from Dresden, has now delivered the first machine to England with the capacity to process 250 kilograms of plastics refuse per day, as detailed in a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea.
In parallel to this first delivery, serial production has now been initiated at Nürmont Installations GmbH in Nuremberg, Germany, where a total of ten modules, each with the capacity to process 1,000 kilograms of plastics refuse per day, will initially be manufactured. Enespa will begin acceptance tests as early as next month and expects full-scale production activities to start at the beginning of 2021.
According to the press release, Enespa will therefore become the first company to use thermolysis technology to recycle mixed plastics refuse at industrial scale. The company has outsourced manufacturing of the modules in order to concentrate on the development of its locations and the operation of the systems.
