Bühler opens its doors to 75 apprentices

Uzwil SG – As summer turns to fall, a total of 75 young people recently started apprenticeships at the Bühler headquarters in Uzwil. The technology firm regards the promotion of apprentices as a core component in its success over the years. Bühler has already trained more than 8,000 apprentices.

A total of 75 budding specialists have just started apprenticeships at the Bühler headquarters in Uzwil in the canton of St.Gallen, further details of which can be found in LinkedIn post. “With their creative minds and new ideas and perspectives, they will contribute to our innovations for a better world”, the technology company writes.

For more than a century, apprentices have been key to the success of Bühler. According to its own information, more than 8,000 apprenticeships have been successfully completed at the company, while at present more than 600 young people around the world – of which roughly 300 in Switzerland – are in the process of serving an apprenticeship at Bühler.

Talented youngsters have a choice of apprenticeships in nine specialist areas at Bühler. For example, these cover fields such as automation, industrial coatings, casting technology, polymechanics and IT. In 2010 and 2014, the company received awards from the Enterprise Foundation and the Swiss Federal University for Vocational Education and Training for its apprenticeship program.

Bühler was founded in 1860 and the family company today operates on a global basis. It specializes in process technologies used in the manufacturing of foodstuffs as well as in automotive production.
