Birkhäuser+GBC prints with Gallus machine
St.Gallen – Packaging and printing firm Birkhäuser+GBC has added a second label printing press from Gallus. The printing press can also be used for sensitive applications.
Gallus, a manufacturer of label printing presses in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, announced that it has equipped Birkhäuser+GBC with its Gallus Labelfire 340 with low migration equipment. Low migration is particularly important for sensitive applications in the pharmaceutical and food sectors as it prevents ink from leaking into the products when printing packaging and labels.
“The new Gallus Labelfire 340 with low migration equipment is the perfect machine for us,” said Marcel Häsler, COO at Birkhäuser, which is located in Reinach in the Canton of Basel-Landschaft. ”Now we can offer the whole range of applications for the food sector, which meet all relevant low migration requirements – from flexible packaging and labels, paper bags and folding cartons to self-adhesive labels with cold foil finishing or lacquer effects.”
Gallus first equipped Birkhäuser with a Gallus Labelfire 340 four years ago. The second press is an important addition to Birkhäuser’s machinery thanks in part to its flexibility. For example, it can integrate “cost-effective varnish application, high-quality cold foil embossing or customer-specific printing of spot colors or white,” according to the press release.
