Bartholet sets world record

Flums SG – The ropeway system manufacturer Bartholet continues to be highly active around the world. In South Korea, a new chairlift is currently under construction. And a new system in Turkey even has Bartholet eyeing a new world record.

With its new chairlift system, Bartholet is lending a helping hand to the South Korean tourism region of Cheong Do to achieve a new “milestone”, as detailed in a press release issued by the company based in the St.GallenBodenseeArea. The four-seater chairlift transports 900 people per hour and climbs just over 180 meters in altitude. After a journey of around 10 minutes, passengers reach their destination at 323 meters above sea level, where they can enjoy spectacular panoramas. The new chairlift is set to be put into operation at the end of July.

The new gondola lift in Düziçi is one of four installations currently under construction by Bartholet in Turkey. “With an inclined length of 5,682 meters, it represents the world’s longest monocable gondola lift for eight people in a single section”, Bartholet states in another press release, underlining its claim to a new world record in the process. In addition to the length, the new eight-seater gondola lift excels on account of the layout of the line itself, covering a landscape that is both “rough and smooth” including barren rocks. In so doing, the gondola lift overcomes a total elevation difference of 1,551 meters, “which already represents the next record”, according to the press release. This system is also set to be opened in the near future. With Bartholet’s gondola lift, the mountain station situated at 2,246 meters above sea level can be reached in 17 minutes, a journey which would otherwise take 45 minutes by car.
