Aebi Schmidt supplying sweepers to England

Frauenfeld/Peterborough - Aebi Schmidt has sold five environmentally friendly Swingo sweepers to Peterborough City Council. The company makes systems for managing and cleaning public spaces and has an office in the city in the east of England.

Peterborough has expanded its sweeper fleet with five Swingo compact sweepers from Aebi Schmidt. According to a press release from the company in the St.GallenBodenseeArea, this allows greenhouse gas emissions to be reduced by 90 percent, even with a conventional Euro 6 engine and supported by intelligent digital solutions. Also, they can be easily modified to run on hydrotreated vegetable oils, commented Matthew Elderkin, Area Sales Manager of Aebi Schmidt.

The Swingo proved to be the most economically advantageous for the City Council in terms of quality and price. A factor in the decision was that Aebi Schmidt’s UK head office is based in Peterborough and, as a local business, was therefore handy for any repairs should they arise.

Three of the compact sweepers have been fitted with a weed arm. The Council has also opted for a flexible wonder hose, which can be easily transferred from machine to machine as required. It is perfect for accessing tricky nooks and crannies under and behind street furniture which would be inaccessible otherwise. “Our drivers like the fact that the Swingos offer a much higher performance with far more power and greater suction than the models they replaced,” said Chris Jackson, Streetcare Manager at Aragon Direct Services in Peterborough. “That means that they are able do a job first time, rather than having to go back several times to complete it.”
