PAUT using whey-based foam from ciaras to clean their coaches
Gossau/Ganterschwil - Postautobetriebe AG Unteres Toggenburg (PAUT AG) is a new customer of the Gossau-based firm ciaras AG. The company’s whey-based cleaning products under the clappt brand for vehicles, agricultural and industrial applications, households and pets, as well as body care, are circular and Cradle to Cradle Certified.
PAUT AG, which operates eight locations throughout the Lower Toggenburg region, cleans the vehicles that serve its extensive local public transport network with a vehicle cleaning solution made by ciaras AG from Gossau in the canton of St.Gallen. Like the company’s other cleaning products, it is made from whey from the Appenzell region. It does not contain any harmful substances, can be recycled and is Cradle to Cradle Certified (C2C). The C2C project was implemented with the Network of Trust from epeaswitzerland, an accredited assessor for Cradle to Cradle Certified certifications based in Bäch in the canton of Schwyz.
Whey is a byproduct from manufacturing cheese that only keeps for a few days. After several years of development, the shareholders of the family business have managed to develop a method that stabilizes the fermentation process. As such, the whey produced in this way has a longer shelf life and the valuable original substances, some of which are living organisms, are still preserved. According to the company’s website, the knowledge about this process is “unique” and a “well-kept secret”.
In total, ciaras manufactures four product groups: clappt is designed for indoor and outdoor applications in industry, buildings, agriculture and for vehicles, including fire engines, trucks and tractors, whereby the wastewater does not need to be neutralized. The product is harmless to food and animals, and is therefore also suitable for use in stables and animal transporters. According to the information, this natural product removes 98.3 percent of germs in the household and is intended to be gentle on washing machines and textiles.
MolkeClean products are well suited for use in private households. Among other things, windows can be cleaned streak-free and laundry gently without harmful substances.
Under the name Molcare, ciaras offers body care products. They are dermatologically tested and imbued with natural oils and herbs, in addition to being suitable for sensitive and damaged skin.
