Zur Rose accelerates growth

Frauenfeld TG – Zur Rose announced that it is taking over the German service provider Eurapon Pharmahandel GmbH. The mail-order pharmacy also experienced significant growth in sales in the third quarter.

Zur Rose increased its sales in the third quarter by 15.4 per cent over the same period last year. The St.GallenBodenseeArea company further announced it had achieved cumulative total sales of 711.6 million Swiss francs in the first nine months of the year, which corresponds to an increase of 9.9 per cent compared to the same period last year.

In line with its expansion programme, Zur Rose is taking over Eurapon Pharmahandel GmbH, which will be acquired by the end of the year through its German subsidiary DocMorris. The mail-order business of Eurapon will be operated from the Netherlands, an “advantageous” choice of location “in the European environment for an internally active mail-order pharmacy”, explains Zur Rose.

Eurapon, which specializes in the delivery of non-prescription drugs, has grown by 30 per cent each year for the last three years, well above the market average. The acquisition will enable Zur Rose to “further extend its European market leadership”.
