Stadler trains connect Lindau and Munich

Bussnang TG – Stadler Rail is supplying 22 trains for the railway between Munich and Lindau. Although the line is currently undergoing expansion and electrification, passengers can expect to travel on the Swiss rail vehicle manufacturer’s trains from the end of 2021.

The Bayerische Eisenbahngesellschaft (BEG) and the Ministry for Transport Baden-Württemberg have awarded the contract for the train line between Lindau and Munich, according to BEG, which operates the regional railways in Bavaria.

While German company Go Ahead has won the tender for managing the line, Stadler, the rail vehicles manufacturer from the St.GallenBodenseeArea, is supplying 22 Flirt 3 four-part electric railcars.

The result will be a significant reduction in journey time. Also new will be a two-hourly connection daily on the Munich – Memmingen – Lindau Island – Lindau-Reutin line. It is anticipated that from 2022, trains will stop at five new stations between Hergatz and Lindau.
