Militzer & Münch expands in Algeria

St.Gallen – Militzer & Münch is increasing its Maghreb activities by opening a new affiliate in Algeria. The logistics company already has organizations in Tunisia and Morocco.

Militzer & Münch founded its Morocco affiliate in 1986 followed by Tunisia in 1996. Militzer & Münch France has been handling the Algerian market since 2007, explained the company from the St.GallenBodenseeArea in a statement.

A commercial delegation office was opened there in 2009, a commitment that is now being intensified with the launch of an Algerian affiliate.

“With this new location, we substantially strengthen our presence in the North African market,” commented Lothar Thoma, CEO M&M Militzer & Münch International Holding AG, in the statement. “At the same time, we strive to even better adapt our service portfolio to this special and challenging market.”

By founding M&M Militzer & Münch SPA, the logistics company is tapping into the economic development in Algeria. The country intends to decrease its dependence on the oil and gas sector and increase the mining of iron ore and phosphate deposits. This will benefit the transport industry and balance imports and exports, explained the statement.

Militzer & Münch also offers tailored solutions, including weekly departures of dangerous goods groupage transports, packaging and quality control. Furthermore, containers can be stowed at the company’s 5,000-square meter logistics terminal.
