Metrohm acquires U.S. company
Herisau AR – Precision instruments manufacturer Metrohm AG has acquired Innovative Photonic Solutions from the state of New Jersey in the U.S. The acquisition will contribute to the strategic growth of Metrohm.
Innovative Photonic Solutions (IPS) is the largest producer of Raman spectroscopy diode-based light components in the world, according to a Metrohmstatement. Raman spectroscopy can be used to examine the material properties of semi-conductors, but it is also used in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries.
The precision instruments manufacturer from the St.GallenBodenseeArea will use the acquisition to further develop its portfolio of handheld Raman systems and drive strategic growth.

Metrohm vice president Dieter Strohm emphasized that IPS will continue to operate its business as before, reporting directly to Metrohm headquarters in Herisau in the canton of Appenzell Ausserrhoden.
Metrohm develops instruments for chemical analysis, Raman spectroscopy and laboratory automation software.
