Leica Geosystems launches new layout tool

Heerbrugg SG – Precision device manufacturer Leica Geosystems is introducing its new layout tool iCON iCT30 at the Bauma trade fair currently taking place in Munich. It brings more efficiency to measurement and surveying in the construction industry.

Leica Geosystems has designed the new construction tool for users moving for the first-time from conventional manual layout methods to automated workflows, the precision device manufacturer from the St.GallenBodenseeArea reported in a press release. The hardware and software are both easy to use, said Shane O’Regan, product expert for the iCON at Leica Geosystems.

As demonstrated in a video, the measurements are immediately transferred to a mobile device by the iCON iCT30, where the intuitive touch screen interface allows for easy interaction with the design layout. Referencing the 3D models that it creates helps in understanding complex layouts in construction. The device is compact, so can be used even in areas of the site that are difficult to reach.

The new layout tool can deal with difficult site conditions, such as reflections, interruptions of line of sight or congestions. This means operators can layout more points per day than before, speeding up the construction process.

Leica Geosystems is presenting iCON iCT30 at the Bauma trade fair in Munich, which finishes on Sunday.
