Huber+Suhner showcases new e-mobility solutions

Herisau AR – Cable specialist Huber+Suhner is showcasing new charging system solutions for electric vehicles this week. The company has also developed a new antenna solution for autonomous driving.

Huber+Suhner is showcasing its latest developments at the Electric & Hybrid Technology Expo Europe 2018, which is being held 15 to 17 May in Hannover.

Its state-of-the-art RADOX HPC fast-charging system for electric vehicles increases the power-throughput of a charging cable to 500 kilowatts. Many charging stations only offer an average output of 7 to 50 kilowatts, explains Max Göldi, market manager HPC at Huber+Suhner.

The charging system solution achieves an 80 per cent state of charge in less than 15 minutes, and the cables used are “thin, flexible, lightweight and easy to handle”, according to a statement from the St.GallenBodenseeArea company.

Also on display at the trade fair is Huber+Suhner’s injection moulded radar antennas for autonomous driving. With its “low loss distribution network, the antenna is perfectly positioned to aid the rollout to autonomous vehicles”.

Huber+Suhner is rounding off its display with new developments in a high voltage distribution unit (HVDU) and its RADOX automotive connection system (RACS) of the second generation, which ensure power distribution between high voltage components in electric vehicles.
