Helvetia supports InsurTechs

St.Gallen – The Swiss Start Up Factory and Helvetia are jointly launching an accelerator programme for InsurTechs. It will support start-ups from the insurance industry whose ideas fit Helvetia’s core business.

The Zurich-based start-up accelerator Swiss Start Up Factory (SSUF) and the insurance company Helvetia have announced a strategic partnership to jointly create an accelerator programme for InsurTechs. According to a statement, the new InsurTech Accelerator Programme will be launched on 13 February 2017. Start-ups have until the end of January to apply.

In addition to conventional insurance projects, ideas that are of strategic importance to Helvetia’s thematic area ‘Residential Living’ are especially being sought. Successful applicants will then go through the SSUF’s accelerate programme. It offers start-ups with a focus on digital technologies access to industry experts facilitates contacts to customers and partners.

“The insurance environment is becoming increasingly digital. We’re using this as a driver for our further development,” said Daniela Maag, head of strategy and innovation at Helvetia Switzerland.

“With our partnership, we want to strengthen the innovative capacity and skills of Swiss start-ups in the InsurTech field,” added Max Meister, co-founder of SUF. “With Helvetia, Swiss Start Up Factory is very pleased to gain an established Swiss insurance company as a strategic partners.”
